Sinhagad, Sinhgarh, or Sinhgad fort is located around 30kms from southwest of Pune and its lies under Western Ghats mountain range,
Maharashtra,India.Earlier it was known by the name of Kondhana before captured by Marathas.
In 1670 a battle took place which is called Battle of Sinhagad.
Winter and monsoon is best time to visit this place. You can enjoy bike riding if you love bike riding around the mountains.
When you start driving towards the fort you will find messy roads but it will be just for 2 to 3 KMS and after that roads are good to drive or ride the bike.
Keep your horn active at turn because the turns are very sharp at some point, as i have started in pre-winter season on my royal enfield.
On the way to sinhagad and just before the 10 KMS from it you will see the water on your right side that’s basically Khadakwasla dam.
This is also good place to take rest and hide your hunger. The kanda Bhaji (Onion Pakode) is best to have.
Don’t be surprised if you are planing on Sunday and you will see the huge crowd there, but best time would be the working day so you can enjoy the place.
Once you climb the fort the greenery and the atmosphere will makes you fresh and you will love food up there and must have nimbu pani.Plenty of food stalls on the fort hence food and water is always available and yes the greenery makes the fort awesome in rainy season. It is very good place for an early morning trek.
So if you are planning for one day trip then Sinhagad would be the nice choice.
